McSparran McCormick have been involved in criminal law for the past thirty years. During this time we have been involved in some ground breaking cases.

These days the criminal practice is overseen by our 

John N McCormick. 

In 1993 John McCormick was one of the first Solicitors to be granted Extended Rights of Audience in the High Court of Justiciary. 

He is a Solicitor Advocate. 

He was one of the first Solicitor Advocates to be instructed in a High Court Murder Trial and has been instructed in a number of high profile High Court cases since.

A number of the criminal cases in which McSparran McCormick are involved have in recent years become the focus of media interest.

In 1998 a division of the Firm was formed  as -

"John McCormick, Solicitor Advocate" 

which trades from our Waterloo Street Office where John McCormick is available to meet and see clients after or before normal Court hours. 

There is a twenty-four hour help line available to clients in the event that they require urgent advice outwith normal office hours.
